About

Typeset is a Zola theme for writers who appreciate clean typography and academic aesthetics. It draws inspiration from LaTeX, Typst, and the principles of well-typeset documents.

Features

  • Tufte-style sidenotes keep supplementary content visible without interrupting reading flow
  • KaTeX math rendering for beautiful equations, loaded only when needed
  • Academic figure numbering with captions and cross-references
  • Responsive design that adapts from desktop to mobile with full-bleed images and code
  • Dark mode via system preferences or manual toggle
  • Syntax highlighting with Catppuccin themes

Typography

Good typography serves the reader. Typeset uses:

  • Crimson Pro for body text, a serif designed for comfortable reading
  • EB Garamond for headings, inspired by classic book typography
  • JetBrains Mono for code, with ligatures and clear character distinction
  • 65-character line width to reduce eye strain
  • Generous whitespace to let content breathe
